For us Social Media has been a godsend! We have met and conversed with so many fab people, many of them customers, who have in their own way moved the business along, either with a kind comment, a hint or tip, or in fact buying a tee or hoodie from us.
There are a far too many to mention but there are a few who deserve to be recognised who have helped in the first few months of us finding our feet and trying to move the business forward; thanks to Sinead, Sasha, Ledele and Anna-Julia, for taking the time out to help with promotional activities and for believing in the brand and wearing YT with pride! Thanks guys! To our fantastic models Emily & Simon, who we used for our first photo shoot (great memories!), and who were professional, fun and great to work with, guys you have been brilliant from day one! Em, as always you are always there when needed! And lastly, to my gorgeous wife! Who continues to inspire me to follow my dreams, coax me in the right directions and help out wherever needed. I couldn’t do this without you, love always, Hx.
There are many more, who no doubt I will get round to mentioning, but suffice to say so far, thanks for everything.
Following on from the above, via Social Media I’ve got to know a couple of people who have bent over backwards to help Young Ted out, who have asked for nothing in return, and have been a pleasure to work with. After sending out a couple of tees for promotional purposes, we were gobsmacked to receive some pictures of said tees, taking by the very talented, professional photographer, Adi Dewey (www.adriandewey.com), and modelled by the gorgeous and equally talented Vicky B (check out her blog vickyb1987.blogspot.co.uk)!
It does restore your faith in human nature, when people go the extra mile to help someone out. Guys I can’t thank you enough, and I hope to keep in touch with you both.
They say inspiration comes in many forms, but I think one of the main reasons was watching one of my best friends, Steph (who now runs two excellent companies Barmy Dog Clothing and Peach Branding!), leave a well paid job and strive out on her own and to follow her own dream! She showed me it can be achieved, it’s just taking that first step! Thanks Queenie!
Well after a bit of soul searching and ditching a few ideas that came and went, an idea finally stuck and hey presto Young Ted Clothing was born! After the initial false starts, teething problems (there still hanging around somewhere!) and logistical issues we finally came up with some early logo designs and put them on a couple of tees… a start of, I hope, an adventure that will be filled with excitement, more ups and downs I hope, and hopefully bringing you, the customer, some great garments and designs that you want to be seen in! Right I’ve started, pull down the safety barrier, let the ride begin!
